This lake is very holy to the villagers of OSLA. The residents consider it auspicious and worship its waters. However, its location and attractive approach translate it into a beautiful trek for youngsters and seasoned trekkers. The method can be from the tons river valley or the Supin valley. The lake waters feed into the tons river. The final climb to the lake is a bit strenuous, but the views are rewarding. Along with Ruinsara Taal and Baraadsaar Taal, this lake makes up this region’s trio of easily accessible lakes.
Tons Valley, situated west of Garwal Himalaya, is a thick pine and deodar mixture forest. The valley remains a tourist centre. Ruinsara Lake, overwhelmed by several glittering peaks, is a serene haven. The area is a section of the great Govind Sanctuary, this place has diverse Indian wildlife, and it stays at the core of nature and bird watchers. Villages made of exceptional wooden carvings along the highway perplex viewers. Ruinsara Lake lies within the famous Swargrohini ranges, and this place is nearly married by Hindu Mythology. The famous route carries historical weight as it remains part of the Mahabharata Legendary epic.
Talk of heroes like Pandavas roamed in this region while serving exile. The Swargrohini trekking is the most joyous, accessible, and famous in the Garhwal Himalayas. Several alternatives exist, whether to proceed directly to Himachal state or change direction to valleys like Garhwal Hiamlayas. While trekking along Tons valley, you will possibly notice high mounts and forests surrounding this wonderful area. There are many such attractive places in Uttaranchal. Binsar, Dodital etc., are some of them.
