Every hike offers breathtaking terrain. We reluctantly admit that every trek also has a few rough spots. Even with the sharpest critical eye, it can be challenging to identify these flaws while on the Buran Ghati trek. There is not a moment on this trek where you are disappointed. It is as though someone has taken out all the best parts of our treks and stitched them together to make one perfect trek.
The Har Ki Dun journey begins near the historic town of Janglik, an example of an ancient village that has been “untouched by civilization.” After ascending out of Janglik, the track enters a beautifully thick forest before bursting onto the Dayara meadows. Most hikers get to this point and halt in their steps, mouths hanging open in awe of Dayara Meadows. You might assume that the fields are over once you leave Dayara, but you couldn’t be more mistaken. Forests and meadows line the way to Litham. Dunda will be among the top campsites which offer you with the beauty of an alpine mountain and the excitement of an upcoming spectacular climb.
On the other side of the pass sits Barua, a lovely mediaeval town that resembles Hobbiton from The Lord of the Rings. It is a world with old houses, fruit-bearing trees, and narrow streets.
As far as we can tell, the Buran Ghati walk combines all the best parts of a challenging hike with an exhilarating mountain crossing. Except for the Pass day, most days are easy to moderate with frequent changes in the landscape. Go for Buran Ghati if you’re seeking a summer or fall hike without a second thought.
