The Golep Kangri Peak in Ladakh, located at 5950 metres above sea level, is a fantastic substitute for the Stok Kangri Peak. It is a lesser-climbed peak with breathtaking panoramic views from the summit and an exhilarating summit push that is ideal for experienced hikers who want to test their limits. It serves as an excellent initial trekking peak for adrenaline seekers and is ideal for those seeking to attempt climbing peaks higher than 7000 metres. You may see a peek of the stunning Ladakhi terrain as you hike past traditional Ladakhi communities.
Since the summit push takes more than 10 hours, one needs to be both physically and emotionally fit to complete this walk. Despite the fact that the ascent to Golep Kangri peak is simpler than the ascent to Stok Kangri, there is a stretch on the way to the top that is fairly steep and calls for technical skill, making the ascent all the more adventurous. The summit offers
breathtaking views of the Kang Yatse, Stok Kangri, and the entire Zanskar and Karakoram ranges. You can see Mount Nun, Mount Nun, and K2 in the far north on a clear day. June to September are the perfect months to go on a Golep Kangri Trek. For additional details about the Golep Kangri Trek, continue reading this page.
